College Station and Harris Elementary had a joint career Day today, and it was fabulous! So many people from the community came out to present their industries to our students. Ms. Phillips may have a future in Hollywood, because she pretended to need medical attention to show the students what would happen if they called 911.

By the way, MANY of our students don't know their home addresses or parents' names. This information could be life saving in the event of an emergency! See if your child knows this vital information!

MEMS came to tell the students about their industry.

Pepe the Silky Chicken was a bit hit with all of the kids!

GLF brought out one of the big trucks for students to see!

Our College and Career Fair was today at Harris and College Station. Many colleges and companies came to tell our students about how they, too, can work in these industries or attend these colleges in the future! Thank you to Mrs. Greene and Mrs. Thomas for organizing this event!

Baptist Health College came to teach students about nursing careers.

UAPB sent a representative to try to recruit future students!

College Station's student teacher represented Philander Smith University.

Our own Mrs. Rainey represented Henderson well!

Our own Mrs. Hodges represented The University of Central Arkansas!

Harris and College Station had a joint College and Career Fair this morning, and many companies and colleges sent ambassadors to give our students a vision for their futures! Thank you to the people who poured into our kids today!

GFL (Green for Life) came to tell us about their industry.

The TREK classes of College Station and Harris Elementary will present a living Wax museum in the gym on Thursday, April 9, at 5:00 pm. Please come explore! There will be a brief performance by some College Station classes, then we will begin our tours of our Living Wax Museum! Come meet Pele, Amelia Earhart, Michael Jordan, and many more!

As we head into Spring Break, please review these guidelines on when to keep your child home from school.

According to the latest Viral Respiratory Diseases Report from the Arkansas Department of Health, public schools saw an average absenteeism rate of 8.2% last week. Following these guidelines helps keep our classrooms healthy and learning strong.

🎓 AVID Wednesday Spotlight: WICOR in Action! ✏️📚

The foundation of AVID techniques is the WICOR framework — Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading — and it was on full display at Sylvan Hills High School.

In Mrs. Bridges’ history class, students explored industrialization and its impact on countries worldwide. After reading about the topic in class, they dug deeper through research, organized their findings into visual models, collaborated on large‑scale posters, and used inquiry to understand how global events shaped the modern world.

👕 Don’t forget to wear your college or career shirt tomorrow and celebrate the strategies that help our scholars think critically and dream big.

We are so privileged to have Dr. Thompson at our schools. He leads a drum line, and they did a great job of backing up our Bullies story today. We are so thankful to have Dr. Thompson as a mentor and role model. Thank you, Dr. T!

We had a great assembly about not being a bully this afternoon! The skit was backed up by the music of Dr. Thompson's drumline! Wesley Peters came to present his book called Bullies, and some staff members and students acted out the parts!
