They had to write a complete sentence in order to gain yardage for their teams.

Charades is always fun, but students had to have a complete sentence in order to gain yardage. They could not write their sentences until their teams guessed what they were doing!

Students had to add tens to move down the football field!

Our resident artist. Y'all, she is amazing!

Students had to engineer something to keep the egg from being "tackled" and, therefore, broken.

Happy AVID Day from Harris Elementary! AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. We are determined to have fun AND learn today! Students came in to decorated hallways and classrooms, which was very exciting to our students! Check out the fun!

The halls were decorated like a football field!

We have a staff of creative AND artistic leaders!

A little friendly competition never hurt anybody!

In Ms Hayes' room, students played math football. They loved it!

In Mrs. Finnell's room, they had to add and subtract by tens to move down the football field.

Harris had a parent meeting to explain how Title 1 works and how we can better work with our students! Mr. Carado even won the door prize! A silver Keurig! Now he can have lots of coffee on those school mornings! Congratulations!

The third week of September is National Security Officer Appreciation Week. This week allows us to highlight the amazing work of our dozens of security officers at PCSSD. This includes monitoring the school, preventing unauthorized entries, responding to emergencies, investigating misconduct, and, most importantly, supporting students. We are so thankful for all their hard work. #PCSSDproud #ServeAll

We are proud to celebrate Chef Appreciation Week, a time to honor the chefs who bring passion, creativity, and care to every meal they prepare for our students. At PCSSD, we have a pair of chefs who transform food into celebration, comfort, connection, and community – Chartwells' Executive Chef King Joseph and Chef Sarah Montgomery, who prepare meals in our cafés & caterings for district staff; help train our kitchen staffs; conduct in-café programs with our students; and so much more. Thank you, Chef King & Chef Sarah, for all you do for the students of PCSSD!
